The artist duo Wasted Rita and Elea Jeanne Schmitter worked around archives made in Capbreton during confinement. Every day, thanks to a VHS camera, the sunset was recorded and archived, forming a diary of these days, which are sometimes all alike. Having wanted to register their collaboration around the territory and their common experiences, they rely on the plasticity of the sunset and the very idea of the experience that one has of it alone or with others, to develop a relational aesthetic, questioning renaissance and sublime. Based on the idea that human have been more interested in sunsets than their sunrises, these are like a promise of conclusion to all the dramas of the day. They deal with the universal experience of this cycle, belonging to humans as well as to sea and land creatures since the dawn of time. This little death, a little mourning over the achievements or defeats of a day, brings people together around these few minutes of apocalyptic ecstasy.
